Evaluation of mRNA expression by real-time qPCR analysis. Total RNA was extracted from the surgically removed tumor and in vitro analysis using the tumor demonstrated that mRNA of GH (a), Pit-1 (b), POMC (c), Tpit (d), and Neuro D1 (e) were expressed more in the tumor than a nonfunctioning pituitary tumor, suggesting that the tumor was able to secrete both ACTH and GH. Data represent mean ± S.E.M
